Sen says that the two-nation theory “was first promulgated not by Jinnah, but by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in his presidential address to the Hindu Mahasabha in 1937.”

In fact, Lala Lajpat Rai had proposed partition in 1925 and he was unusually accurate in predicting the boundaries of the future Dominion.
