India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since 1947. Most of the conflicts have centered on issues related to Kashmir and terrorism.

Recently, on April 22, 2025, 26 civilians were killed in a militant attack in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir. Indian intelligence agencies claim that Pakistan is involved in this incident and that the militants have killed innocent civilians from their shelters. It is known that the attack was claimed by the Resistance Front, a branch of the Pakistan-backed militant organization ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’. However, the group later denied responsibility and said that it was hacked.

In view of this allegation, India engaged in a military conflict with Pakistan. The responsibility of informing Indian citizens about the situation by holding a press conference regarding this conflict fell to Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

But on Saturday, May 10, a ceasefire was declared between the two countries due to the intervention of the United States. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri made this announcement at a press conference. Supporters of a right-wing political party in India became furious over this incident. After the ceasefire, he was trolled terribly when he posted a family photo on his X account. Because the supporters of this political party put all the responsibility for the cessation of the war on his shoulders.

But in reality, there is no one who declared the ceasefire and no bureaucrat, including Vikram Misri. This attack was brought down on Misri without knowing it. It was mainly in the context of this incident that Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of the 'All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen' party, made the quoted statement. He made this comment on his X Account. The news was published in the first-tier newspapers of India, including The Economic Times. Asaduddin wrote, “Mr Vikram Misri is a decent and an Honest Hard working Diplomat working tirelessly for our Nation. Our Civil Servants work under the Executive this must be remembered & they shouldn’t be blamed for the decisions taken by The Executive /or any Political leadership running Watan E Aziz.”
